Yes, This is Afghanistan

I remember it was this time of the year back in 2009, Ramin and I went to Torghondi, the border of Afghanistan-Turkmenistan in north of Herat to take some photos with my new SLR camera, we were just trying to experience photography like professional photographers :)

Of all the shots, I think this is the most beautiful one I took, all the colors, shadows of the cloud and of course Ramin in the corner. Every time I look at this photo, it automatically comes into my mind that Afghanistan has much more than just war!

After a Long time

It has been almost a year from my last update here on my blog. A lot of things happened over the last 12 months, here are couple of major events I want to name here:

1. I am graduated from American Institute for Leadership Development in November 2010 ( I am quite excited about it!)

2. After a decade working for AWCC, I made the choice to resign and be an entrepreneur (currently working on a couple of cool projects with a great team)

3. Why I don’t remember anything else?! :)

Karwan TV has prepared a report from Herat on Leadership Development Program, My friend Shakib and I were interviewed and here is the rest you can watch:

Me on BBC World Service: Afghanistan Online!

This is a special report by BBC World Service called “Afghanistan Online” and I was the Starring actor of the movie :) , it was recorded on October 2009 and aired on March 2010 on BBC Word Service & BBC Persian TV.  You can watch it here:

Reporter: Najieh Ghulami, Cameraman: Tony Mewse, Director: Darius Bazargan and finally the Staring Actor: Jamshid Sultanzada :)

Wow! My blog is featured on BBC World TV

Few days ago, I had a webcam interview with Paul Coletti of BBC Blogworld about blogging in Afghanistan and of course my own blog and the Blogging Service I am running for Afghanistan called Blog.af, part of the interview is recently featured on BBC World TV as the Blogworld Episode #1, I am very happy I was the first blogger on this program.

Don’t forget to smile! :)

Who even cares about her?

63 days old girl on the street

Last night, I was exploring my photos to find one worth posting here, I found this shocking photo. I remember it was lunch time while I was walking on the street in Kabul back in June 2007 and I saw this heartbreaking scene.

Her family were having lunch on the street when I took the picture with my Nokia N95, I went to her mother and asked: why even did you give birth to her when you don’t care about her? God will take care of her she replied! :(

I’ve lost my SLR Camera :(

Farshad in my office

Farshad in my office

Yes, I’ve lost my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi (450D) just a couple of months after I purchased it. :(

Today I was just browsing some of the photos I captured using this camera, I am going to share some of them here.

I think this was among the first 10 photos I shot using my Canon Camera, Farshad Heravy sitting next to me in my office.  Very soon we will have Ramin Samadi, Mohsen Farahi & Ahmad Fawad Ahmadi here. lol

Its now the second day of the workshop (last day) and now everyone has a blog.
There were almost 20 attendees out of which 2 were girls.
Lets hope for the growth of blogging in Afghanistan and a special thanks to Nasim Fekrat for holding this workshop.
